Quoting the official website : “ MyPaint is a fast and easy open-source graphics application for digital painters.

It lets you focus on the art instead of the program. You work on your canvas with minimum distractions, bringing up the interface only when you need it.”

MyPaint appears on the DVD in the Bonus video only. I didn’t use it a lot in this DVD, even though I use it a lot in my Linux workflow. The main reason : the software is still young and misses features such as blending modes. Note it can’t be installed yet on Apple computers.

Installation notes :

( thanks Ubuntugeek )

Open the terminal and run the following command

    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kang-bundo/ppa

    sudo apt-get update

    sudo apt-get install mypaint

Now, you can finish your instalation by editing your gnome menu and create a shortcut that open “mypaint”
